Big thanks to Leadership Novato's Class of 2013's Team Army! This great group merged our Facebook pages, got us going on Twitter, and provided advice and contact information for volunteer and community outreach.

LITA a la Heart on Saturday, May 11 was a great evening! Dan Noyes of KGO-TV emceed the evening's program. Highlights included presentation of the volunteer awards (see below) and the personal stories many volunteers shared about their friendships with residents of long-term care facilities. Catered by An Affair to Remember, the food was delicious and Redwood High's Jazz Collective set the mood with upbeat tunes.

Welcome to LITA (Love is the Answer) of Marin.

Founded in 1975, LITA is a nonprofit organization committed to taking the lonely out of aging by matching volunteer friends with elderly residents of Marin County's skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and residential care homes. We facilitate ongoing friendships which help to bring happiness, support and companionship to otherwise lonely lives.

LITA strives to improve the quality of life for these residents through five programs: One-to-One Friends, The Pet Connection, Bridging Generations, LITA Families, and Holiday Gifts for the Elderly. Explore our website to learn more about these programs, make a tax-deductible donation, or submit a request to volunteer. Or, please e-mail or call us at (415) 472-5482.

Several wonderful LITA volunteers and their dear friends who reside in long-term care facilities around Marin share their stories in LITA's video. Funded by a grant from Marin County Supervisor Judy Arnold's office, this heart-warming video was produced by Jazzed About Media and narrated by LITA Board Member Peter Boam.
